Since joining the company in 2019 as Commercial Director and subsequently taking on the MD role for Ireland in April 2021, she has been instrumental in shaping Applegreen’s commercial strategy and driving its success in the Irish market. Mathews brings a diverse retail background to her current position, with prior experience at The Walt Disney Company and Kepak Convenience Foods in Europe. Her early career foundation in the graduate program at Glanbia further underscores her understanding of the broader consumer goods sector. Recognition as „CEO of the Year“ at the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards in June 2024 is a testament to her impactful leadership and strategic direction at Applegreen.
